1. Who is responsible

Hideaway Deals is a hotel price information and comparison service. For any question about the protection of your personal information, you can write to [email protected].

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to run the service:

• Newsletter: your email address, the language you chose, and information about your sign-up and your consent.
• Technical data: our hosting providers may temporarily record your IP address, your browser and other technical data to keep the site secure and running.
• Visit statistics: we use Plausible Analytics to measure traffic to our site. It is set up to work without cookies and without keeping IP addresses for statistics.

Some images are hosted by third-party services, including Google, Airbnb and Unsplash. When your browser downloads these images, your IP address may be shared with the provider concerned.

3. Use and disclosure

We use your information to manage the newsletter, measure traffic to the site and keep it secure.

The necessary information may be shared with our service providers:

• Supabase: database;
• Twilio SendGrid: sending emails;
• Cloudflare: website hosting;
• Plausible Analytics: visit statistics.

Some providers may process or store information outside Quebec or Canada, including in the United States or the European Union. The laws of those places may then apply.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

4. Retention

We keep your email address for as long as you are subscribed to the newsletter.

After you unsubscribe, we may keep the information needed to respect your choice, prevent unsolicited messages and show that we meet our legal obligations, including on consent. This information is kept only for as long as necessary.

Technical data is kept for as long as needed for the security and operation of the service.

5. Your rights

Subject to applicable laws, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw your consent and, where the law provides, get a copy of your information in a commonly used format or ask for it to be transferred.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email or by writing to [email protected].

We will handle your requests within the time limits set by law. You can also file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as applicable.

6. Security and incidents

We take reasonable security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, use or disclosure.

In the event of a confidentiality incident, we will take the measures required by law, including notifying the people concerned and the competent authorities where necessary.

7. Minors

The service is not intended for children under 14. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Changes

We may change this policy. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
